We are thrilled with the overwhelmingly positive response to Olympian Threads.
Olympian Threads is a thrift store located at door 11 of the JTASD High School. The program is run by the special education department as an instructional opportunity for students to learn work based skills. This is provided in a simulated environment that closely resembles a place of business similar to a clothing store in which they may be seeking employment for after graduation.
The store will be open for high school students to shop throughout the week at designated times. We also hope to include hours for the community to shop prior to board meetings and/or committee meetings. Once we have the dates and times confirmed the information will be posted on the district website.

The Jim Thorpe Touchdown Club is excited to host an Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow, Saturday, April 19th, from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Jim Thorpe Area High School stadium!

Due to the forecasted winter weather, the Board of Education Committee Meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12, has been postponed. It is being rescheduled for next Tuesday, February 18, at 6:00 in the high school.

To Our Olympian Community, it is with heavy hearts that we share news of a tragic fire that occurred yesterday afternoon, which left several of our Olympian families without their homes and belongings. This devastating event has deeply impacted our community, and these families now face the difficult journey of rebuilding their lives. In response, we are coming together as a community to support them through collecting donations of basic necessities, clothing, and monetary contributions to assist these families during this challenging time. This is a reminder of this month's Parent Engagement Opportunity presented by the Special Education Department. This month on January 15, 2025 at 5:30pm we will be offering an informational engagement opportunity with the Director of Special Education as we present, Understanding the Evaluation Process: IEPs, supports and services, and helping with acronyms etc. If you have any questions, want to learn about these topics or engage with other families, please come out to the High School LGI room this Wednesday before the board meeting. We will have light refreshments for you as well.
