Superintendent's Corner

Welcome to the Jim Thorpe Area School District. I am proud to represent the numerous hard working and dedicated members of our school community who strive every day to provide a world class educational experience for our students.

Over the past several years, the educational environment across the state has been extremely challenging for schools and its educators, staff, students, and parents. As we continue to return to a more normal educational environment, we will continue to review our curriculum to ensure that it provides students with relevant and challenging learning experiences. It is our intention to meet students where they are and provide opportunities for them to flourish.

I firmly believe in John C. Maxwell's statement, "Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."  For this reason, I have always believed that our schools and classrooms need to be welcoming, engaging, and motivating environments where the individual students know they are cared about and matter. Moving forward, as a district, we will make a commitment to this belief and support our faculty and staff in promoting this ideal.

Successfully educating a child is a collaborative effort, and we hope you will join us in this partnership as we continuously work towards helping all of our students reach their full potential.
