Andreas Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc. of Lehighton, PA is giving away a $500.00 scholarship to a 5-Star ‘Class of 2024’ high school senior at the Lehighton Area High School, Palmerton Area High School, Jim Thorpe Area High School and the Carbon Career and Technical Institute (CCTI), who plans to attend an accredited college, university or technical college and major in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) or plumbing. "Build A Better Future" Scholarship

Ever wondered just how much of a difference high school students can make in their communities? In our 2023 scholarship program, our past winners have proven it can be profound. That’s why our 2024 Build A Better Future scholarship will also be a design thinking community improvement project based on the LAUNCH Cycle. We will award $10,000 to five new seniors, with the top recipient receiving an additional $5,000 grant to continue funding their project.

Carbon Collaborative Health & Human Services Scholarship

Established by the Carbon Collaborative (formerly the Interagency and Family Collaborative Board), this scholarship is a one-year, non-renewable $1,000 award granted to a qualified graduating high school senior (or home-schooled student who has a state-recognized graduation certificate/diploma) residing in Carbon County who wishes to pursue further education and/or a career in a health or human service field.

Donald N. Lynch Scholarship

Submission & Eligibility Requirements

  1. Scholarship eligibility is open to all current Pocono Mountain Regional Area (Monroe, Wayne, Carbon and Pike County) high school students graduating in June of their senior year. High school transcripts may reflect a GPA of 3.0 or better.

  2. You must submit a typed cover letter that introduces yourself and tells us a little about who you are and your career goals. Cover letters must be at least two paragraphs of not less than five sentences in each. Cover letter must include your name, address, phone number, email address.

  3. You must submit a typed essay of 250-400 words or more, answering the essay question below.

  4. You must provide the name of the college, technical, or trade institution, you plan to attend, or have been accepted to attend.

  5. Deadline for all submissions is TBD. All submissions must be received in our office via mail by that date. We will accept hard copy and electronic submissions.

  6. If you are submitting a hard copy, please place your submission materials (cover letter, essay, transcript, and any other materials) in a folder and then place in a 9X12 mailing envelope. Do not fold or bend any submission material. Please make sure that your full name is notated on each page, including in your submission materials to:

Dr. Erik Goluboff Scholarship for Future Doctors

Dr. Erik Goluboff is a Medical Doctor and Urologist based in New York.  He wants to help the next generation of medical doctors in the United States, and would like to give back through the “Dr Erik Goluboff Scholarship for Future Doctors”. This scholarship is available for students in the United States who are currently enrolled in a University or High School, and have plans to attend a University.  The scholarship is meant to help a deserving student with scholarship funding who wishes to become a medical doctor.

Dr. John Manzella Scholarship for Second Opportunities

Dr. John Manzella, a medical doctor based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, wants to help the students who have had a troubled upbringing in the United States. East Penn ASHE 2023 Civil Engineering Scholarship

The East Penn Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers has a Scholarship Program for high school seniors who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a program leading to a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil and Construction Engineering Technology. There are a minimum of three $5000 scholarships available, in memory of Robert L. Brown and Robert L. Donovan.

Eugene "Peck" Armbruster Memorial Scholarship

Established by the Fraternal Order of Orioles, Lehighton Nest #183, the Eugene “Peck” Armbruster Memorial Scholarship will provide financial assistance for higher education to students (male or female) from Carbon County who are pursuing a trade career.

The scholarship is a one-year, non-renewable scholarship awarded annually to a qualified graduating high school senior (or home-schooled student who has a state-recognized graduation certificate/diploma) residing in Carbon County, PA, who is seeking to further their education in a trade career at a 2 or 4-year college, university, or trade school.

Additional qualifications for the scholarship include:

  • A proven record of academic success with at least a 3.0 GPA cumulative average over the time period of two years prior to graduation

  • Candidates will be asked to submit a short essay (500 words or less) to describe the most important thing s/he has done to help make a difference in the community

  • Preference will be given to applicants with a strong track record of volunteerism and community service

  • Financial need will be considered in the selection process. A copy of the expected family contribution page of the FAFSA report must be submitted with application. The Foundation reserves the right to request the full FAFSA at their discretion.

GLVR Academy Realtor Scholarship Opportunity

The Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors® Diversity & Community Involvement Committee is offering a scholarship to one high school student within GLVR’s three-county footprint to attend the Greater Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy.  The Greater Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy is highly regarded as the primary source for real estate education in the Lehigh Valley. We educate and develop our Realtor® members into community leaders who advocate for their clients and are actively engaged in the Realtor® organization.

PSECU 2023 Scholarship

PSECU (Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union) is pleased to share that they are now accepting applications for the 2023 PSECU Scholarship. This scholarship program awards scholarships valued at up to $8,000 ($2,000 per year, renewable for up to four years) to six students each year. 

Applicants must:

  • Be a PSECU member by December 31, 2022. Individuals with custodial accounts are eligible. Joint owners, however, aren’t considered members.

The Lehigh Valley Professional Section of Society of Women Engineers grants scholarships to graduating high school seniors who identify as female and will be entering an accredited engineering program. USW Hugh Carcella Scholarship Program

The United Steelworkers of America has announced its 2024 United Steelworkers Hugh Carcella Scholarship Program, open to members in good standing, or the son or daughter or legal ward of a member, retiree or deceased member of United Steelworkers, District 10 (Eastern) local union. Scholarships will be awarded in June, 2024, and are available for use at any accredited college or university in the United States or Canada. Awardees may follow any course of study normally leading to a recognized bachelor's degree.  A two year community college is acceptable when matriculating toward a four year Bachelor’s Degree program.  Several scholarships will be awarded, with a total value of $4,000 ($1,000 per year for four years).  Applications must be obtained from participating local unions.
