We are very excited to share that the Jim Thorpe Area School District will be taking part in a pilot program with Kooth to provide our students with access to a personalized, digital mental health and wellbeing platform!

Kooth’s sole purpose is to create easy access to online mental health services.  Students can access support for any issue they may be experiencing through peer-to-peer support, self-help tools, and counseling sessions.  This includes articles and personal experiences from users and the Kooth team, discussion boards, and daily journals.  All the material on Kooth has been pre-moderated to ensure users are safe online.

This program is being funded by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and will be available to students who are 11 to 18 years of age, beginning sometime in February and will be subject to appropriate parental consent.

More information will be forthcoming as we begin to rollout the program to our staff, students, and parents/guardians.  If you would like to learn more, please click on the links to the brochure and a Kooth promotional video.
